Today's Ride

Tried to go for one of those long slow zone2 rides since every other ride lately has been around 1 hour of absolutely ragging myself about (hit a new max heartrate the other day), ofcourse that didnt last long as met another chap 10 miles in and took turns drafting/leading. Very fun but the initial plan meant I didn't bring anything to eat, that combined with Garmin taking me the wrong way lead to reaching the top of this hill then bordering on bonking. Strange they never look as steep when you take the picture.

Managed to find a pub in the middle of wherever that was happy to fill my bottle up with juice/sugar (I'd imagine a common request given the terrain around there) then found a shop which buying some sour patch kids and a bottle of Fanta which got me home.

Love the Felt, not as light as the Bianchi (though I haven't weighed it) but the smaller frame size makes it feel so much more nimble and strangely nicer to throw around in a sprint. Road bug is back, vehicle fear dwindling, shame a month from now it's likely to be pissing down 24/7.

First ride in weeks. Just a short 6 mile loop to ease back into things and test out some new parts, Seatpost, Bars, Bar Ends and Saddle.
I love the Seatpost and Bar Ends, not too sure about the flat bars yet... The saddle is probably going to be swapped back to one of my spare heavy gel ones in the name of comfort, only 6 miles and I wanted to get off a couple of times. Lovely morning though, shame about my fitness (lack of), my bloomin legs, my bloomin chest. Bloomin cycling.

Is a bridge crossing a river and not just a wall (see bikes and bridges thread) :p

Today was a good day. I got War Horse up and running (not perfect but good enough to do a decent ride) and then managed 23 miles with a fair bit of climbing.

My first ride over 20 miles since my pain started 6 weeks ago (a complication from a rib injury). It hurt but it felt great. No doubt I will be sore tomorrow but I have no regrets as I'm starting to regain hope and look forward to things again.
