Today's Ride

I have just spent the past 3 days riding the Leeds to Liverpool canal with a mate, we got to within 20 miles of Leeds too late to finish and nowhere to camp so got the train back.
A good ride with a mixture of town and country, much of the industrial areas having been restored now. The weather was good but lots of water needed due to the heat, my bike is the Roberts and friend was on a Moulton which was comfortable despite small wheels due to front and rear suspension.

My first car was a 1968 Morris Mini - exactly that colour - with the sliding windows... 😍
Think mine was maybe 1966 but probably that same shade of blue and with opening rear windows. If memory serves me right the 850cc Minis didn't have them only the 1000cc.
MattiThundrrr, if that's your Mini I'm jealous AF. Maybe you can confirm if my memory is correct or has been ravaged by time.

Mine was an 850cc, and did have the opening rear windows on a vertical hinge. maybe they added them between 1966 and '68 :)

I actually bought off a neighbour for £25 when I was 16, then spent all summer working to afford to replace the rusty front wings, boot floor and door skins.
