Today's Ride

I've been left all alone tonight, wife in London, daughter in Brussels and son in Idaho, just me and the dog at home.View attachment 985924

So I fed the dog and cooked myself a pasta bolognese, I searched for a decent wine to go with it, usually her indoors just fills the fridge with rose and champagne so I wasn't hopeful, but I got lucky...

A cheeky primitivo, just what the doctor ordered!

So after half a bottle the evening looked very pleasant and a quick ride around the block beckoned and after bolognese and primitivo it could only mean one bike.

The Bianchi
A quick jaunt into town folllowed with the obligatory grafitti stop ( the Romans invented it)

Tried to get a shot of the viaduct (another Roman invetion.) It's behind those trees...honest. I blame the wine.

Then a quick bit of fettling at the very handy bike service stop.

And the call to be made, should it be Eastbourne or Winchester tonight!

Winchester won. :D

Oh I fforgot I tried to blag a tiramiso in town but that weren't forthcoming at the local Trattoria.

just me and the dog at home

That's a very Jack Russell pose -- "where are we going? when are we going? can we go now? do you have any food on you?"

Yesterday's afterwork blast. Humid, 18-19 degrees, felt a little cooler with a 10-12 mph NW breeze. Thick grey cloud but relatively clear which meant only one thing...it's wet this morning 🤣

Legs continue to feel good which is needed given next Sunday's 5th round of the SWXC and my foolhardy attempts to do the Enduro at the Malverns (and the retro XC) o_O

Yesterdays pootle was around beautiful Bognor with Mr and Mrs Guinness as guides and cycling proficiency trainers :) I only fell off once .
There was sea and wind and pizza in the park and miniature railways and thatched flint cottages . Topped off with a curry so I'm now sat in a campervan with not much oxygen left in it

Finally home!
I reckon it'd be easier to get your bike on that train than it would to get it on a German Intercity one!

Mad busy at work, and when not at work on a build at the moment so the last few rides have been at night... tonight though I took the DJR for a test ride after fixing a few little problems with it.

10km on the quiet roads was lovely! Such a smooth ride, could have easily done 20 😄

I like the way in top pic the stem disappears so it looks like you've got magic floating bars .

Left the comfort of my armchair to have a quick ride around the water meadows now the heavy thunder showers seem to have abated.
The sky still looked quite angry. IMG_3406.webp

I swapped one confy armchair for another though

With the massive tyres and the spung Brooks B67 I wafted along.

The good old Reynolds tubing helped with the interesting combination of 500 for the main tubes and 531 for the forks.

And something more pastoral

I just had to add this final photo just to admire the art of the Victorian brickwork, that angled arch is a testament to the skills of those bygone artisans. IMG_3412.webp
