Today's Ride

I just picked up this Barracuda Dos Equis Team as a birthday present for myself.
The purple bars will be going on my '95 Sunn Vertik 2. And I might part it out, sell the F/F, put the blue parts on my '96 Vertik, and save the red ones for my next project. If I decide to keep it, the bouncy fork will be replaced with a Pace RC31 I have lying around.

The stoke was so high on Sunday I almost made the sun come out - just the usual loops to get the Hot humming for this weekend. It's pretty much there now.

I spent some time this evening changing the tyres, handlebars, and gearing on my '95 Sunn Vertik 2. Then I took a quick ride down to the water to have a beer, and check how well I'd hit the chain line (not just right, but a lot closer than I usually come on the first try).

Warm today, coolish breeze so a great day for a ride.

Just went on a field trip today

Having spent most my years travelling around the country finding and admiring the beautiful places this country has to offer, i had forgotten just how beautiful it is around here. Guess i had just got used to it.

sunny and very warm when out of the breeze.

Went for a quick loop as i was meant to be dog sitting.

When across a few fields, usually i ride around as they are either too muddy or too bumpy but got to see things from different angles today. Visited a Saxon church and stopped at the avenue at Hardwick. The last pic isnt all the way to the end, you can just see my bike in the middle.

Great ride on some great track and on a stunning day.

Warm today with a cool breeze.

A ride around some lakes to contrast the field ride from the other day No plan today just went with the flow, found a nice trail, which the nettles seemed to like as they were everywhere :|

Very warm today, especially out of the wind.

Went out with a friend today and followed him on one of his olld routes. Great not having to think and just ride Ended up at Hardwick lakes which i havent been to for many many years, very busy for a week day.

Sunny and warm today.

Went for a short ride today which turned into a long but interesting one. Ended up back at the lakes at Hardwick. The only way from there though is up, but it was a really nice day so i was in no rush.

Really busy everywhere probably due to the nice weather. I was sat up on Hardwick hill and could see the M1 which was blocked southbound incase your unfortunate enough to be on there today. Would not have liked to have been sat in that on a day like today. Great day for a ride though with some great views.

Very hot today.

So warm, whenever i stopped i started burning up so had to ride to stay cool.

Went exploring today, tried to follow a route i had seen on the map from memory. Ended up where i wanted to so got it right i guess. Some amazing places along the way which im sure i have never been to. Beautiful lakes and wildlife reserves, spoilt only by traffic noise from the M1 which was close by. I even found a purpose built MTB trail, not very long but graded and for mtb's only apparently. It was really strange as it was just in the middle of nowhere and not signed on way there :? didnt ride it as i was just passing through but will next time. Also found an egg-stradanary sculpture, no clues as to who or why.
