Today's Ride

Some folk ride different routes on the same bike, others ride the same route on different bikes 😄 I'm lucky enough to be able to do both, but more of the later lately. Popped out for a familiar 12km route around the park on the Gwerch this evening. Gotta make use of these light evenings whilst they are here! IMG_6386 2.webp

The local deer were disgusted with the Shimano levers on my otherwise Campy set-up

Looks lovely, but the shadows hide more goose sh*t than seems reasonable

IMG_6393.webp I bought this '83 Guerciotti on a whim - but it's a lovely bike - recommended!! I probably should get some more suitable wheels for gravel riding 😄.

It's getting warmer 23C today and 21C on my ride - meaning my hideous lack of fashion sense included shorts.

I can never figure out if you have stunningly beautiful weather, even when it's raining, are a wonderful photographer or are a filter fanboy 🤣

Picky buggers. The only Shimano they'll tolerate (and I'm with them on this) is the m700 series.

Apologies for spamming this thread, but I am trying to get out for a ride every evening at the moment - the weather is nice and I am getting fat...so it has to be done 😄

Spotted this shifty looking geezer in the reeds...

No filter... but pointing your iPhone directly at the sun screws with it's algorithms, if you change the angle of the sensor you can get interesting effects 😉

Getting warmer 23C this evening - Lovely!!!

Tonights bike was this trusty old thing - I love this bike - its not as comfortable as my Breezers, but it just flies... its glorious.

It was one of my first full restorations (it was in a right 2 and 8 when I got it) and I learned a lot - it probably needs redoing tbh.. but for now we'll keep rolling!

On the reverse of wynne's deep drop bars, I'd brought up to the local bike guy last time I'd seen him about wanting to change the reach on Ultegra levers due to not being able to comfortably reach from the drops. He mentioned having the same issue when he started on road bikes years back, disappeared into the house then came back out and gifted a set of FSA compact bars. Missed out the lever tape due to also noticing part of the lever cover underneath was missing so have ordered a replacement for that 😂 18.84 miles, 1294ft elevation and a deceptively windy day. So much nicer with the new bars.

FSA compacts are truly a great shape. Used to work for TH Industries / FSA and glad you’re a fan.

Mild, 13 degrees, felt the same, 12-15 SSE breeze. Some patches of blue sky and a hint of sunshine before the next wave of showers piled in. One thing I've noticed this spring/summer are the increased number of and variety of cows. I'm guessing that's a direct result of the drop in wheat prices and general shift from arable farming back to animal. There were at least 5 different varities on todays scoot around the penisula.

Pendeen lighthouse on the left, then Portheras cliff, Travean cliff to the right, a proper lumpy part of the SW coastal path.
