Reminds me of one spring I spent in Austin,TX. Not a day below 90 already in the morning. By 11 AM it was well above 100 almost every day. I had to stop under the trees to avoid fainting from heat stroke...

Re:

When I was about 8-9 years old, we stopped in July on the way across country for a few days in Fort Worth, Texas-it was 100 F. + every day we were there, and I distinctly remember walking out to cross the street wearing loafers, and when I stepped off the curb onto the hot asphalt my shoes stuck and I walked right out of them! Today-Thursday-Summer like, about 86 F. and sunny. Rode up 900' to the West for the view, then back down the trail to home...

Interesting story there... I had my share of melting black top too when I think of it. Definitely in Texas but also in Spain once when I crashed coming down a mountain. The whole descent was in the shade except for one switchback which was bathing in direct sunlight. The front washed out under me like it was ice...

Today rode up some local hills to watch the yachts sail by. Not anywhere near any melting tarmac here. Still got my winter fur on, which normally comes off last week of April...

Re:

Today-Friday-Rode with CK on a loop to the Bay, through the bike tunnel, then home. There is a new bike/pedestrian bridge they are almost finished with-it will make crossing a very busy street below way easier-Later, as we passed by some buildings below the path at one point, Charlie pointed out a tag someone had put on the building :) -When I got home, I had to chase some garden eaters out of my yard-we have a lot of deer around here, and they don't hunt them locally...

Re:

Today-Saturday-The Fairfax Festival weekend is here-the most crowded two days of the year downtown, with a parade, then music, food and drink for everyone. A brisk 15 miles towards the East, then back to Fairfax for the festivities...
