DC-CK's book comes out in September, but if you order it now ahead of time, I think it's $20 now and $30 when it comes out next month, from Amazon. Today-Sunday-Up into the Open Space District-Foggy over the Bay, keeping temps down to 78 F...

Today-Tuesday-Rode with CK up the steep way 1000' and dropped into Tamarancho for a trail ride. Ran into a guy on a Cross bike with Van's shoes- i mentioned to him that this was a bad place to ride that kind of bike, and he agreed with me
-we stopped farther down the trail for a break, and after awhile he came by gingerly picking his way along...

Sorry about the old thread Pat, let's make a new one that is even better.
Today's ride is my go to during the week, Marshall Canyon to Johnson's Pasture to Girl Scout Camp. Great weather now but last week we had oppressive heat and a surprise thunderstorm that dropped 2.5 inches of rain in one hour. To put in perspective we received about five inches of rain over all of last year. (Although we are in a major drought, the normal rainfall for Los Angeles is 14 inches.)
Any way pics are the oak grove at the midway point, a steep single track that I did not climb and, of course, the Ritchey P-21 my new go to bike.
