This was my Rascal before it cracked. I rode the Camino del Primitivo twice. Five day rides and the Ruta della Plata which was 13 days, 1025ks.

We had a lot of problems with the beam rack, so we now used a Kiwi brand that has since been sold to Thule
My girlfriend still uses the beam rack everyday on her Rascal commuter, whilst I use the Thule version on my Top Gun commuter

Yes, we like Kleins !!! If your Klein has eyelets, you are ok, but ours don't, so we have to do what we have done. Look up Thule Pack-n-pedal racks. The beauty of these is that they can go on either the front or back. The only problem that we encounter is that we bought our Ortleibs in 96 and they don't latch onto the racks in a traditional way so we use compression straps to keep them to the rack

Today-Thursday-Thanksgiving Day-Sunny and mid 60's F. The annual Appetite Seminar Ride took place today. A yearly event here in Fairfax since the mid 70's. There were 16 riders the first year, with between 500-1000 in recent years. Always a good party and a hard ride with lots of climbing to build up an appetite for the big meal later. A spot on the ridgetop before the descent back down is the Triangle, at about 1500'. Every year a group of guys manage to bring a trailer with free food and drinks to this spot. This year featured pancakes, bacon, coffee, and whisky! Had a great time hanging out with some old friends...
