to lacquer or not to lacquer - that is the question?

lacquer

Charlie Cunningham still uses only soapy water and medium fine steel wool-he lives about 1 mile from me and I see him frequently on his high-polish bike. As far as lacquer goes, some lacquers can yellow over time, and some can checker or craze from sunlight and heat-not to mention the inevitable chips in the lacquer. It is more maintanence to polish it and wax it, but it is easier to work on this way and results in a better looking machine in most cases. Pictures of my Funk are in Mrkawasaki's photo file on this site, and a quick look will give you an idea what I'm talkin'about.
