Test ride was a classic- chain snapped after about three rotations!
. That happened to me on my last maiden ride (not my pace) and pretzeled the rear mech hanger so badly I had to get it cut off and a new one attached. Trashed an XTR mech too :(

I was that excited when i saw the pics i didn't see the comment regarding the maiden voyage and snapped chain and i bet that was really frustrating ..

I saw the funny side tbh- would have been my error on refitting the chain. Could do with picking up a new chain prior to first proper ride- I needed one anyway as that one was too short.

Re:

also have a spare, almost new seat post collar for this if it's of interest 8)

Great pics their velofrog as that shows up the paint detail alot better than i imagined it which just goes to show how special it really is 8) .

@ tib ,

Glad to see you didn't get all worked up over the chain splitting and of course a short chain is always going to be more stressed then a correct length chain so are you fitting a shimano next time or do you have an S ram in mind ..

Im probably going to go with a sram given all the other gearing bits are that- hoping to pick one up tomorrow and then get out for a proper ride!

Saw that in the FS section along with the stem and top cap I assume were for this- at another time I may have picked up the lot, but times be hard at the minute! (Too many holidays!)

Well that's what i'd choose as it does make good sense any way , well in my head it does  so fingers crossed you'll have it all sorted by this time tomorrow ..

Remembered that this was a new chain 3 months ago, and that I had the old 9 speed tucked away somewhere... voila, free longer chain! First ride proper this afternoon all being well... Wish me luck!
