Things that make your heart drop

For what it's worth, a lifetime guarantee is for the lifetime of the product not the owner. That lifetime is an arbitrary number decided by the manufacturer.

I would say in this case the owner had a lifetime out of the item, but I would counter that by suggesting it would do no harm to the maker to honour some percentage in order to enhance brand reputation.

dud warranty

sorry to hear about your frame / i would check out what deal they will do you as;

I have taken the time to read litespeed's whole warranty policy and its not worth the paper its written on, they have built a wear and tear clause in that absolves them of any wrong doing (as the wear and tear issue is decided by them) and gives them a way out of replacing any frame at any time :shock:

it wouldn't matter if your frame was 1 year old or 20 years old

very very clever
(very bad for their reputation though i certainly wouldn't buy one now after reading that so called warranty)

Shame about the frame - that has to be repairable but would it be cose effective?

... but the above, the warranty of most products, especially from US have the same get out clauses of improper use, wear and tear etc. so I do not think Litespeed are any worse than other bike manufacturers (will check Specialised/GF and Scott documents tonight if I remember).

Oh Gawd, here we go again! :roll:

You're born, you live, you die - sh*t happens along the way...

THAT'S a guarantee!
