Funnily enough though, notwithstanding his silly style, he does tell the buyer a lot more than most sellers do and he does have a 99% positive feedback score from 178 items. It could well be that the bike failed to sell because of the txt spk, but given that (a) he says he put Cannondale decals on it after a respray but he doesn't say what make of bike it is, (b) the rear wheel has a spoke missing and (c) it won't change gear properly, perhaps it is failing to sell on account of his honesty. There are many sellers on eBay who would describe it as a Cannondale and not mention (b) and (c). But it's interesting that he presumably thinks that the txt spk is helping his cause, which I feel sure must be wrong.

Nope, I only got half way along the first line before giving up.
It's like trying to read an optician's chart: nonsensical and migraine-inducing.

I fink u is rite.

i can live with text language in an actual text message but i've always thought that anything written or typed you would make the effort, text language in the written world i think shows a lack of basic intelligence or (un)common sense i'm not the best at spelling and i quite often make typing mistakes but reading that makes me want to email him and explain to him that he's not doing himself any favours with the listing.

even if he wasn't using idiot language the listing doesn't give any sensible usable information, when i do a listing i put in as much info as i can just to avoid getting 30 emails asking about something obvious! also, what a crap way of pricing, relatively high start price, with a buy it now price just above that. i think that's strange. better off having a 99p start with a reserve of your minimum sale price or tell people what the reserve is in the listing.

very mix and match spec aswell, the shifters look like late 90's, the wheels retailed for £100 but are more recent, the colour is a bit pants and he should have said what it was before painting, mainly because it shows he knows the history of the bike and has therefore owned it for a while showing that it isn't maybe stolen! looks like a dawes or saracen or carrera frameset and fork to me, also if he knows how old it is and he knows there are problems he's being totally unrealistic for the money he wants.

as far as general language skills these days my main mechanic and my saturday lad still struggle with the word "service" quite regularly writing it as "servis", drives me mad becuase it's a word that they have to write alot, you'd think they could spell it right by now just from experience!

Im classed as a servier dyslexic and my statment of special needs is long and boring, and i was not aloud to sit a basic english gcse at school.
