The time wasted dilemma???? Marzocchi RAC :(

You know how it goes............
You see something you always lusted over, you find it, you realise you can really do it justice, you do deliver said justice, and then you realise that you probably never really cared about it in the first place.

Casing point being my Marzocchi Bomber RAC carbon forks.

Ludicrously expensive, restored to brand new condition, hand drawn decals (as nobody knew what they looked like) etc etc....
.....and now I feel as if I wasted my energy and time and now I think I may consider parting with them.

The dilemma is this. Do I keep because I put so much effort in and because of the history? Or do i concede and sell?

This isn't intended as an advert by the way, i was merely expressing my thoughts on projects in general and the time spent on them.

i had some of these a while back
great forks no doubt but like you didnt feel it so sold them on

ps they fetched good money in usa

I say keep them.My reason is this-
About 2 years ago i won a set of Amp Research F4 BLT forks.they were in shocking state with cracks all over the pivots, missing one complete side[spring and all]
I had to have the pivots re-made cnc in a harder alloy[might as well],then new springs and 3/4 of the dampers re-made as well
I didn't get around to replacing the decals but i rue the day i sold them and rue it still.
Make allowances elsewhere :?

I cracked a set of RAC's, big crack all the way from the front to back of the top part near the steerer, pretty catastrophic!

For me 90% of the fun is in the chase of the build, 10% is in the finished article. No time is ever wasted on a build, even if you never finish it. I'd also say never sell something you sweated blood on, you will only ever regret it.[/i]
