The Royal Mail

my old postie was excellent, inner city
same as idb1, if he didnt come at 10.30 it was odd
even if it was just junk mail, you knew he had been
moved out to the burbs and had a few things go missing although (one of) the posties is really nice and friendly (and signs stuff for you if your not in! at least it goes through the door!)

but im now looking at post generally from half 10 to about 3pm
few different posties too
parcels are normally pretty good though

all in all, not bad for such a huge customer base

All courier services have their off days. I've found the Royal Mail to be the best but they're far from perfect. DHL have let me down before but have also done good. I'll be sad if royal mail ever disapears completely

Are bloody useless.

I have had 2 purchases this year go completely Pete Tong. From Mountainloz and Sithlord. Both top blokes with huge amounts of feedback on the site.

It is a complete pisser when you pay straight away and they post straight away only for it to get lost in their obviously useless system.

Its funny you should say that Ive just started the ball rolling to track down/recover a item I sent to Sithlord, Ive already refunded Si after a reasonable wait to see if it appeared :?

.

It must depend on your area.
When i stayed in edinburgh there was a cool older gent of a postie. always a note if i missed the post. a friends shop was nearby and left stuff there for me. always said hi, even when i saw him out of uniform. just a real nice guy. maybe the whisky i gave him for new years helped.:D
but there was a younger guy who was a ****. always moaning. jamming stuff through the letterbox when it wouldn't fit - actually snapped out letter flap thing.

Here in this bit of glasgow it's not too bad either. post is at 7am which replaces my alarm now.

400+ parcels sent in the last 2 years. Each and everyone sent either 1st or 2nd class recorded
No parcels have went missing bar one and if i had put my sender address on that it would have been returned.

Not sure but i think recorded post is kept separate from standard mail and theres less chance of it 'wandering' :?

My sorting office employees are pretty happy as a rule....only one is a miserable git and a half.....but I will hopefully outlive him and then dance on his grave...........refused to get up to look for a parcel and said it wouldnt be there and to go back later.....I asked him three times to look before he would get his fat ass up and do so...........guess what  it was there

My postman are great if I am at work he will bring my parcels to my shop for me......or leave stuff at my neighbours...only had two items lost in 600 ebay sales and about 50 rb sales so good considering that :D

Royal Mail are shite, no question about it! As part of my work I run a mail order shop. Shocking the amount of items I send that go missing & just try making a claim & see how you get on. The procedure is geared up to make it nearly impossible to get compensated. Don't even bother trying to ring them, that's even worse you'll get passed from one department to another & that's if they even answer the phone in the first place!!!

Phew, glad I got that off my chest  I have deep rooted issue with the post office. Sadly the alternatives are just as bad, if not worse... don't get me started on UK Mail - that's worth a thread all of it's own
