No doubt a lot of the original weight was in the wheel set, seatpost, stem and handle bars going by that weight!

The origional forks were very heavy. I did weigh the frame but can't remember what it was now! The wheels with their steel solid axles were very heavy too.
My aim was to get it below 30 and it wasn't too hard in the end.


I've spoken with Rob tonight about what is happening with his donation, I'll leave it to him whether to make it public or not.

Thanks very much for the win! Half the winnings/donation I asked to go to Retrobike.co.uk and John (the Guvnor/owner if you didn't know) has in turn donated it to Cancer Research, a very deserving charity as we all know. The other half has gone to my local church, Huddersfield Christian Fellowship to help finish the construction of the new building.

This was a great idea and hopefully something like this can be a regular thing.
