the death of Stephen Gately

How very STW of you all! The guy was someone's son/brother/husband and now he is dead at the age of 33. I was no fan of their work but a bit of respect might be nice. RIP to the lad.

I can’t understand why Boyzone fans are upset by jokes about Stephen Gately.

Agree with mtbfix -I don't see much that's funny about the guy dying at 33, though I've yet to see any sign of a joke here..

Chaps, just try and remember this is a public forum and there's nothing funny about losing a loved one. If it hasn't happened to you personally and you don't know what it feels like, I hope it never does.

Just because it's a person in the public eye is no reason to justify saying stuff that will cause some people distress.

Crikey. I've just caught up with this thread and looks like I've unintentionally thrown the cat amongst the pigeons... For my part I genuinely was surprised and certainly didn't mean to cause any offence.

I know I added some tongue in cheek comments but I tend to try to have a light hearted view of life (and death) and this comes off the back of me losing 2 relatives last weekend.. Anyway, sorry if I've caused distress
