I need a pair a cheap-mid range disc brakes for my latest build
I've just been offered a pair of the above for fifty notes.Second hand that is :?
Usual with 2nd hand D/brakes is you dont know exactly what youre letting yourself in for.and the cheaper the brake the more likely its totally fubar
I dont know much about the auriga end of tektro but its not a brand i would readily choose .
Its for a basic potter about urban type of bike
Might be able to get some deore ones [2nd's]for about the same money.

Are these worth it? or should i wait and try for something else
Has anybody tried them / use them right now ?.

:?

A lot of the bikes at work have them . I wouldn't want to pay £50 for them , unless they have just come off a new bike . Nothing special , think of them like a cheap generic hope mini .

Pop into your local motor factors , there will be a GT with them I'm sure .

Got some on my 29er and IMO it's a great set of brakes.

I've got a set of Shimano LXs with EBC pads on another bike and the Tektros are miles better...good progressive feel and stopping even on OE pads.

Decent, cheap brakes. Came as standard on my Avalanche, now running them on my 29er. Another vote from me.

I had to fiddle with some yesterday and the pads are very easily changed . There isn't anything that makes you " why did they do that " so go for it if you can get some for nearer £7 than £50 .

£50 sounds alot for them. You can get lucky on the bay and score some hopes for that (admitably you need to be lucky)
