There you go, fill yer boots :D

Taking the easy option out
FAQ is too wide a topic and for most would seem to apply to forum stuff like posting pics and the like :?

A sub heading would work :?

This came up before ...
and the answer was if it's a retro tech question stick it in retro chat as we do.
If it's specifically modern then off topic (now 98+ I guess).

I guess one thing we could do is have any excellent answered one's then we could get the mods to move it to the Bike FAQ's and edit the title to something that would be picked up on the search.

I don't mind the repeated questions, it brings up the old posts, often new info gets posted along the way and well makes people post rather than just use it as a library.

But if you are answering via PM and it's suitable as a forum question, then get the member to post the question on the forum so that you can answer on the forum so others can see the Q&A for future reference.

Surely a wiki?
Yup, and divided up according to different areas of the bike --
  • stem/steerer tube/headset
  • brakes
  • shifters/mechs/cassettes
  • cranks/BBs
  • seatposts/clamps
etc.....
