"Tech" brand bikes

Re:

I didn't realize that Tech made decent bikes - I've always associated them with department stores. Chumaman's really reminds me of the 94 Norco Rampage I have - same frame material. Does it have a bike pump peg on the rear seatstay?

Wouldn't surpirse me if they were made in the same Taiwanese factory as Norco.

:D I found another Wild Thing

One of that Tech branded bikes are definatly Austrian. I can check some mid 90's catalogues

Canadian Cycling Technologies was a company from Calgary Alberta Canada. They existed from the mid-1980s to the mid-1990s.

The original brand name of bicycles was "cycletech" and was shortened to "tech" in 1988 or 1989.

The early frames were made in Japan and soon after frames were made in Taiwan.

Most of the bicycles were sold in western Canada. At some point tech bicycles were distributed in Europe.

The company also distributed bicycle supplies, like inner tubes.

Re: "Tech" Brand

Hey there. I own a Tech "Wild Thing" had it forever... early 90's. Absolutely has been my favorite.
I just found this forum as I was thinking of getting rid of the bike.
It was definitely a Canadian brand. I bought mine new in Lethbridge Alberta
I'll get some pics to add to this thread shortly, just as an FYI.
Cheers.

Re:

Sorry, the other two.
As someone correctly mentioned above, it is marked made in Taiwan.

My wife may have helped sell you that Tech! She worked at Alpinland back in the early 90's. She still has ner Nova from back then, and I just picked up an Elite here a few weeks ago.
