Team Marin or Team Titanium wanted - NOW RESOLVED.. Team Ti

Dirt Disciple
Hi, I am after replacing my old Trek 8500 with a bike from the same era and have a hankering after the Marin I never bought.

Ideally the Team titanium, though Team Marin (almost) equally prized. In either case I am after one in very good condition, with rigid forks and LARGE frame size. As I never owned a Marin their sizing is a mystery, but at 6' 2" I'd guess something like 20 inch?

Thanks for any replies.

Hey,

I have a 19" Team Titanium from 1995 (I think) - matt grey and the first year to use Marin Lite components. White Industries cranks and front hub.

As far as I can tell its all original apart from the rear tyre which has been swapped out for one of those semi-slick types. It does have twist grip shifters not rapidfire but the actual bar grips are Marin so I assume they were original? Anyone know for sure?

Its pretty much been sitting around for the past 15 years or so and after a polish it would look almost brand new. The only cosmetic wear is to the metal badges and some rubbing of the decals on the seat post, stem and barends but I think you may be able to find replacements on here if you're lucky (or if you're bothered).

I'm 6 feet and I prefer the sizing of my 17.5" frame.

The only niggle is that I am down here in Scarborough with a broken leg and the bike is up in Edinburgh...how quickly would you want to get hold of one?

Time is not of the essence, so if the bike's right we can take our time. What are the tube dimensions of the 19" frame so I can compare to those I'm riding at the moment.

Sorry to hear of your leg; still, this is the time of year to have one I s'pose as riding is less tempting in the cold misery.

Looks original - but would have shipped with XT shifter brake units...

Nice bike though...

I got this earlier this month. Another 19" Marin Team Titanium that was put in storage for 15 years. I added a saddle and the rest was stock.
I would offer it you, however shipping from Canada is lot.

Nice looking bike! I think you're right; post from Canada might be rather expensive. Do you still ride it? Would be a shame not to. All the best.

I don't collect Marins. It offered as part of a commercial auction.
