Okay folks, that does it...

Time to stop building, fettling and buying stuff for bikes on ebay.

I am actually going to get serious and start riding properly again, not just once a week on the hills either. Properly, hunderd and some miles a week touch like I used to in my youth.

I have secured my next build, a Pace, and have a spec sheet drawn up that will make it worth considerably more than my car. I am damned if I won't be able to make the best of it when it is built!

This year is all about getting properly fit again and turning the hobby of cycling back into riding and not spannering.

I'll see you all in the mid field of some races next year, I'll be the guy on the Pace with the Royce hubs!

I will chart my sucess and failure here, anyone else who wants to do the same pitch in.

Who's with me?

go for it,

i have lost a stone since christmas and plan to carry on eating better and doing more time in the saddle, must stay away from the beer

the pace sounds nice

stubbsy :D

I'm in. I've signed up for a sprint du/triathlon series with the first race at the end of this month.

Wish I was riding a Pace though .... I'll be on my Langster for the bike sections until I can persuade myself to buy a proper road bike.

theres a few times i have went below 16st this year, only by a few pounds.......last winter i was 18.3st

still need to get rid of 6-10lbs and i will be better for it i reckon....despite getting shot of over 2st my BMI is still 33!!!!!!!

im meant to be no more than 13st for my height, and i think thats rubbish......

I am pretty sure I qualify for the Clydesdale team. 6' & 16st 4lb. Enjoy racing as I know I have no chance of winning. Look on it as a personal battle to get to the finish and not be last. Doing the Thetford Summer Enduro in an 8hr pairs race with Lou74 and a 100 mile sportive later this year.

Not sure if I need any help but registering my interest.

If there was a class above Clydesdale I'd be in it trust me (6' 8'' & 23 st.) I did a big ride for charity last year and will be doing it again this year. Just in the process of negotiating with the missus to buy a new (retro) bike for this ride.
I am glad I'm not the only one who wants to actually get involved and do something about it.

See you on the trails, boys!

I will force myself to commute and will force myself to commute by forcing myself to commute.

on a bicycle...

I resolve to ride around 50 miles a week once the 'snot season' is over. How anyone with small children around is ever healthy enough to ride at all is a mystery to me.
