Agree with Jamie Dyer's comment on the French climbs. The organisers should resist building a Tour around what teams like Sky want. Cycling should be unpredictable, dangerous, and have a certain element of luck/tragedy to it - otherwise it just ends up as Formula One on bicycles.
Some of the Flemish commentators were getting a bit over excited and
arguing that there should be a stage like this in all the Tours. I think they do have a point. That one stage turned things upside down for the GC and showed that good old fashioned gritty, dirty cycling is the most exciting thing to watch.
