TdF over the cobbles

That was just fantastic! Really glad I had a chance to watch.
Can`t help wondering if they`re going to trust those carbon frame thingies for the next stage when they`ve had such a battering!

Re:

Cracking stuff that, one of the best Tour stages I've seen.

Always liked Nibali, pundits on telly here were writing him off before this stage, but you have to love a General Classification rider who can put 2 1/2 minutes into Contador on the cobbles like that.

Great racing which now sets up some thrilling mountain stages to come! Anybody's guess on who could win this, Ritchie Porte?

Re:

my view is that it's not really a bad thing for the rest of team sky, i'm not a particularly big fan of Froome, don't get me wrong i wanted to see him win as a Brit(ish) winner but at the same time i have other riders i follow.

team sky i think now have to decide whether to go for GC or for stage wins, my personal opinion is that they should throw everything behind Richie Port as he really deserves a chance to shine on his own. i like Nibali so a riding fight there would be good.

also, personally i don't like contador, the doper thing, i never accepted his "it was this one lump of beef, must have been the farmers fault", what a numpty. so seeing contador drop back from the group in the closing stages was (for me) good to see. i would however like to see Bauke Mollema move up again aswel as Peter Sagan.

Re:

actually something else just occurred to me, Wiggo was supposed to be doing the Vuelta, what if Froome wants to do that now? it'll be the "who's in the team" decision all over again.

Hi Jon , the thought of Contador AND Valverde fighting it out makes my blood run cold . Didn't get to see stage , hopefully it's highlighted later

Re:

I watched the whole thing live while doing an 'office' day. Brilliant.

I'm left wondering how Wiggo would have dealt with the cobbles, what with him practicing so hard earlier in the season

Fair play to Froome though, three falls in less than two days, it doesn't take much to imagine just how much pain the poor guy is in right now. Hope he is soon fit and well again.

I am not so sure about Wiggo vs cobbles. Wet cobbles vs dry cobbles is very different.
