Suntour XCM group opinions

I have my eye on a Giant Iguana that I believe to be a '92. I like it because it's in mint condition, has a cool purple splatter paint and is only $60US. It has an XCM group. I know that's on the lower end but I'm wondering how well it actually works? Is it cheapo or is it actually pretty good like , for instance, an STX group is?

Those riser bars would have to go.

Close up of another one. Looks sweet.

The only thing that would put me off that group set is only having a double ring on the chainset. But if it suits your riding then it's not a problem.
I don't have any experience of XCM but even low end Suntour of this vintage seems pretty good. I had an XCT group for many years and many miles, and it was faultless.
Cool splatter paint. In that price range you could well find a higher spec bike if you're willing to wait, but if it's in good condition and you like it then you can't go too far wrong.

Re:

I am a big fan of all things Suntour, and I did use XCM and the next group up, XCE, in the past.
For the price I would buy it in a heartbeat.
