help needed setting up said brake.
what I think I know; the springs are sided left and right (right is gold left is silver, though both may appear the same colour with age, surely they are all at least 20 yrs old now). Turn the tension adjuster with spanner and hold in position whilst tightening the bolt that holds the arm on to the frame... when I do this the arm sticks in place with little force applied to bolt, if I loosen it off the tension goes slack.
Anyone know the correct set up procedure or better still have some instructions they can post?
my other question concerns the brake pads. They fit like conventional canti pads but have shorter shafts ( to enable crank arm clearance) In changing the pads do I simply use regular canti pads and saw off the excess shaft?
