Re:

So, A week on, and it was time to release my seals!

So having tried the 7mm ones in the cap, I decided to go for the 8mm ones. Slightly tighter fit. A quick poke with a needle, and it was ready to go in.

Put it in the fork, and carefully inserted a greased up valve and pump. Pumped it up, and got a satisfying PSST when I took the pump out. Much like you do when you've pumped a tyre up.
Not the annoying PSSSSSSSSSSSSST , meaning it's flat again!
So, happy result, and here's the bike now,

Not sure how well the front brake will work with an M563 lever, but we'll see how it goes! 8)

Re: Sunn Obsys 40 set up. HELP ! !

You've got v brakes on a canti lever. It will be spongier than johnny sponge and the wet wipes with their latest top ten hit ' my brakes suck '

Glad to hear you got 'em pumped up, though.

Re:

as a tip, i you didn't do it. Put a wide pin though it first with a nice sharp end. shapr pointed sewing needle/optical pins. somting about a 1mm wide. It help guide and not tear the valve as the footballpump needle can 'core' the vavle creating a big ole and/or rupture the end.

I've found on Mags (same valve) if you do it out of the bike and then have a craft knife and romove a shallow cone from the exit hole it pretty much stops tearing, but that might be a mag thing as it rests at that point on the needle hole in the adjuster rod.

The PSST you hear should just be the air from the pump itself :-) and not from the fork so sound good.

awesomesauce

now I know that there's a recourse, should either of my fork sets start leaking air from the rubber valve

Cheers mate,

I did put a small needle through it. Did wonder about your cone suggestion but didn't do it in the end.
I have some spares now, so I can try that if this doesn't work.
I pumped up to the suggested 3.4 bar, which seems pretty hard. But not tried out properly yet. May work out well with that pressure, as they're only short travel. Riding position to consider also. Not exactly laid back!
