Suitable oil to re-fill Mag 21's

Popular choice seems to be some of the synthetic fork oils out there for motorbikes. Fuchs Silkolene is one line that springs to mind, nice stuff, both the grease and the oils, as it doesn't eat the rubber & elastomer bits inside forks. As a bonus, it's way cheaper than many products targeted for bicycle use....
 
I refilled mine with some bike specific fork oil from halfords.

I forget the weight 7.5 maybe :?

Was very cheap for 500ml or so - haven't had any problems.........

Maybe worth a shot - also use the same stuff in my Marz Bam's

I dont know about oil, but I have always sworn by motorcycle grease for lubrication of my forks. Has never had a detrimental effects.
 
same here halfords 7.5 , been in one pair for the last year or two and no problems so for
 
Thanks guys...without refering to the manual how much do you have to put in each leg?....I guess you fill'em,put them together and then pump them up right? What would be a standard pressure setting?

Someone here posted a rather fantastic fork maintenance site before I'll see if I can find it, fork ninja dude or summat :?
 
fill it up , pump the legs about 10 times and then with the stantions all the way up , measure the oil from the top of the stantion to the top of the oil it should be .....

light rider (under 140 lbs) - 45 - 50mm

heavy rider (+ 180 lbs) - 35 - 40mm
