Did a bric-a-brac sale yesterday at a boot sale near Bedford, no bike stuff, no car stereos or the Hifi that I normally sell, just the household crap.

Anyway, got sunburnt and sold alot of shite. But, wandering around, bought a slightly tired Specialized Hardrock ( the blue/ white alu one with Deore and Alivio mix and RS Judy) for £25. It was a bit ropey but at 15" it would have gone down well here with a few updates.

Bloke offers me £40 - it sells

Another stall has a couple of HG-50 chains, £2 each still boxed - 'I've got some more here'

10 x NOS Shimano chrome HG-50 chains for £1.40 each...

As a seasoned boot sale bargain hunter, is it best to get there early, late or doesn't it matter so much?

There's a whopper near us, apparently, and I've never been to one with a view to buy owt. Planning to chip along on Sunday. . . . .

early as poss, most 'good' stuff pops up when the cars are unpacking

I've been known to finish a 12 hour shift, then arrive at a car boot to sell or look around at 6am, especially in the summer.

quite amusing this topic coming up, We went off to one Sunday morning ... I said to the family I never EVER find anything ..carboots, charity shops etc etc .... So we set off to Warks largest (they quote) carboot ... Up crack of dawn ...

Never saw a thing bike related ... Nothing .... not even a kids bike :roll:

Of course the others had a field day :roll:

best bike related ive had is a mint, and I mean MINT Raleigh Burner.....bought it for £15 from the bloke's mum while he was getting a burger
