Box the unicorns and place them in the loft or these?

I have one of these in my shop. I used to use it for storing my tandem way up in the rafters. It's a nightmare to operate because one end or the other will go up ahead of the other. so you have to hoist with one hand and lift the heavy end of the bike at the same time with your free hand. *WARNING* This procedure leaves zero hands available for holding a beer. So I don't use the thing anymore. Also, the hooks under the saddle tend to dislodge if your bike goes up ass first, then the bike swings down and cloobers you in the head with its big ring.

The advice I took from that was avoid tandems and drinking whilst operating a rope.

Hang them all on the wall by the front wheel as it's easy to wheel them around upright on the back wheel. Different heights, so the handlebars can overlap. The rear wheel either on the floor or on a box I built to raise it. Halfords do a good front wheel hook £2.99 & on 3 for 2 http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_242557

Used cheap hooks at first, but the plastic came off.

On J hooks with wheels alternated allows you to get more in less space or even loosen and turn the bars and you can get one every 8 inches.

A scaffolding pole fixed between two end walls and a number of large, strong S hooks, bent so that the hooks are at 90 degrees to each other. They can be moved according to number of bikes.

Ahh, now that's neat and easily done, thanks.
