It's a slow burning project, but any suggestions as to a good chainset and BB recommendations for the SS 2000 Stumpy M2 in my sig?

Do Spesh 'Son of Strongarm' cut the mustard or would XT, RaceFace etc be a better choice?

Would it have still been a square taper BB for that year?

(I'm after 175mm crank arms and will be running a 32T chainring)

Any help would be ace!

Cheers :D

SS crank arms

Hi mate
I run my 1X1 using a set of mid 90's LX cranks polished up.
Strong, cheap and a nice shape.
I've used the very same cranks on all my singlespeeds from my 94 Stumpy all the way through to them being used the last few years on my Surly 1X1.

EDIT - memory not what it was as just looked at a pic and I actually ran a set of S Works cranks singlespeed on my 2000 Stumpy -

Never had a problem. Can stick a pic up if you like.

I have the standard son of strongarm on my ss stumpy (which you have seen on here) and they do the job. I think they are quite decent cranks tbh, and personally, would only replace them with Middleburns or similar.

And yes, square taper would be right.
