Spoke lengths

Yeah.. the hubs I have en-route aren't listed and, since they aren't here yet either, I can't take any measurements.

I really suck at this... incidentally...

Nips are 14g x 5/8" (15.875mm) so would I need to be worried about running out of thread d'ya think??

Not necessarily, but it's probably a good reason not to round up.

If you're currently using a spoke calculator that takes account of nipple length, you don't need to make any adjustment to the lengths it gives you. If you're not, you'll need to take it into account. Most calculators that don't specify will assume 12mm nipples.

I find it pays to compare a few different calculators before ordering spokes.

Ok.. used 3 or 4 now and none of them have taken nip length into account and all have produced different numbers :?

sorry to hijack, but on the subject of spokes im having real trouble getting my LBS to sort me a slightly unusual wheel out...

Mavic A317 36h 700c rim
Alfine 501 hub

Anyone genius enough to give me precise spoke measurements and tell me where I can get them in black/straight gauge?
