Spoke lengths

It may help to know they are 28 hole and I'm planning on 3-cross lacing. . . .??

Tell me this and I'll see what I can do.

Just order the spokes you need from CRC, as said they will split the sizes.

Hub make/model
Rim make/model

and yes 28 hoe 3x really does help.

Cannot number crunch if we do not know what we are crunching.

I use http://lenni.info/edd/ nice chap and based on spocalc that has been used fro ages.

If you use the Wheelpro site mentioned above and use DT 14mm nipples iirc, take 1mm off the answer, 16mm 2mm off.
If you wish to compare nipple lengths then take a DT12mm and screw a spoke all the way in.
Do the same for your nipples and compare the length. That it the amount you'll need to add/take off.
Wheelpro is designed so you can +_1mm to the answer and still be fine.

BUT

Front
would be 255.4 and 255 preferable but 256 would be fine.

Rear
254.6 and 253.2 so 252 (preferable 253) and 254 would be ordered.

(using Edd)

Isn't this enough info (along with the 28H and 3 cross thing)??

Will pm. . . . . ;)

It is and hence the spoke lengths I gave. Not mmost spoke calcs work from the centre to the flange, not flange to the axle edge ;)

Just got the PM and will look at tit tommorow

Assuming what you pm'd me then are the correct hubs and rim

In common sizes (usually even numbers if from CRC)
254 and 256 for rear
256 for the front

CRC use 14mm nipples for some reason so possibly you would take 1mm off but looking at the numbers it should be fine. Send Cannondale King a PM if you want to make sure.
Worst that happens is you need to by some more spokes (or shorter/longer nipples) and you gain a collection of them. But at some point you just have to take the plunge and buy them.

I realise this isn't making things any easier, but...

The K2 is a deep-section rim with no eyelets. I'd be looking to build 2x or 2x/radial to avoid awkward spoke angles at the rim and the risk of adjacent spokes interfering at the hub.

I also wouldn't recommend aluminium nipples in a rim with no eyelets, especially if you're not an experienced wheelbuilder.

The nips are brass 8) .. if they ever arrive

Didn't really want odd looking wheels (hence not going for 2x rear, radial front) but I've not seen a picture of a pair on a bike..

Ok.. the angle thing makes sense, the rims are as you say..
So if I were to go the 2x route, with (just under) 16mm nips .. I should be cool with 248's for the front and 242, 244 for the rear??

I can only afford to buy once hence I'm being a tad anal about getting it right :?

By the way, you could do a great favour when you get your hubs and rims and take a picture of them, rims probably just a profile close up sort of thing. Then upload it to the Edd spoke calc (or send to me and I can put the pics up)
I gave him the idea of adding pictures to it so they can be identified easier. So would be nice to use it since he added the ability.

From the info we have, they are the lengths I would go for and should give a margin of error. Worst comes to the worst you'll have a leeway of using the 14mm DT brass nipples if you need the extra 1mm length and a black permanent pen (iirc you wanted black nips).

OR send them to a shop/CK/someone to build who can test out spokes to get the build.
