I'm puzzled. If it's brand new why throw the drive train away? Isn't it "was brand new but then I removed some components and binned them"?

The value in a bike like this is going to be in keeping it minty fresh and original.

The parts I removed are all modern (xt,xo) and ruined the old-skool feel of the other components. My plan was to build it up with some NOS thumbies and period correct chainset but the bike is just a bit big for me and I have to trim down my stable TBH
