he said it was repainted by previous owner
headset size seems right
Dropout seems right
brake routing seems right
Serial number not found 🤣
odd seatpost size (28.6)

I'm not convinced that it's a Rockhopper at all. The brake cable run along the top tube allowing a full length outer was used on the very early Rockhoppers in 1985 and 1986; however, other features don't match up. Additionally, I would be very surprised if that fork was original to the bike. It's a mystery.
