Been auditioning a pair of B&W DM2 to see if they are better than my Mission 753 (with the knackard tweeters).

They're quite big...

and the survey said...?

jury is still out. The 753's have extraordinary tight bass but the tweeters are dead and the ones I've fitted are missing 'something' over the originals. They are a good few db more efficient than the B&W too.

The B&W have an excellent sound stage but bass can be a bit woolly plus they need an amplifier with huge current to get them going.

Is your Mrs away? I would be murdered if I did something like that in our house.

One of the joys of working nights - that and having dinner ready for when she gets in.

The best improvement I've found to tighten bass was to stand the speakers on a heavy slab on top of a sandbag (pillow case). The increased distance of the drivers from the floor might help, and It also gives more height to the soundstage.

What happens if you block the ports?

Is bi amping an option?

Yup, £5 at a car boot sale last week, been looking for on like that for ages.

You sir, truly are the King of the Skip Monkeys. I have the single shelf one for my LP 12. I paid "slightly" more than 5 quid for it. :D

Thats definitely not GF friendly!

Missions are bi ampable but not the B&W. I'll stick with the 753s for now.
