Mary Bars that is.
Thanks to a great retrobiker chap called Gareth...I have some Mary bars to try out.
Popped them on this morning and did my 30mile loop...just canal path stuff and a little more.
Good....I like them.
Felt a wee strange at first, and still do but
1. Good for acceleration on SS...seems a more natural position when you want to 'lock in' your back and put some power down.
2. Climbing much better...as above but out of saddle feels better too...less yanking of the bars...elbows closer to your body.
3. More stable...feels more stable than my just as wide riser bars.
4. More confidence....OK, I havn't hit any huge rough stuff but there are a couple of gravelly/muddy climbs and decents....with the Mary bars seems more in control, less twitchy etc
I'm impressed :D

I'm a swept bar convert, have some luv handles to go on my Salsa and looking at some others to try :D Is that the bars fitted in your pic post?

Well I need something to mount my new thumbies on to, you know how it is.

I've been running swept bars on my Singles for a number of years.

They just seem to make my upper body more relaxed.
And this in turn makes me relax my legs more so i can 'spin' more smoothly.
Just today i have put some nutty ones on a Cafe racer/single/cruiser/j-tin/retro/ modern thing i am lobbing together for 'prom pootler'!

Al. :D
