A reminder to all of us how early European mtb style was heavily influenced by skiing and windsurfing.
Did that purple fade ever look good?

You can tell it is a classy establishment though, the chain pull in the lav is an XTR hub .

But like the purple/black fade it's looking for its market with one eye on the past.
It's described as a mountain bike in the catalogue, but I would say the market is more urban.

I think the Mean Street is the proper hybrid, the 700 wheeled model in the same year

Thank you for sharing this Dawes catalogue, which actually confirms the year I bought my Dawes Tracker (see page 7), I thought I bought it in 1988, but that was not correct.
