But he is a little ambitious on price.

Hate to say it, but STX RC was the special edition of STX, it came with a bronzey finish and had slightly nicer rings that standard edition STX. All that said it's still one of the most useless chainsets unless you have a bling Pace converter to make it 94 BCD.

edit: Forgot to say, think STX RC was the 8 speed group whereas STX was still 7 speed

STX-SE was replaced by STX-RC in 1995, MC-31 to MC-33. Dunno what RC stood for mind. If you want to know which it is, ask him for the M number then look here:

Hate to say it but it would be just the job on that Cro Mega I got off Ebay! It's at least twice as good as the one on there now. Too much money though. Only two or three pounds less than the bike cost!!
