Difficult decision as I've had this bike a very long time. Holdsworth Pro (1975), according to the V-CC ME.

22.5" seattube, 22.5" toptube, metallic black, Campag dropouts, Prugnat lugs(nice shorelines). Equipment, Campag mechs, Campag N Record gear levers. GPM chainset(52/42). Campag Record seatpin(older 2 bolt type), Cherry brakeset, GB stem and"Winpista"(Japan)handlebar, Milremo saddle is past its best but usable.

Headset and BB very good. Comes with two sets of wheels: 1 the original Maillard L/F Q/R Mavic sprints or 2, Miche S/F Q/R with Mavis MA2s. The Miche/Mavics are supreb and the Maillard/Montlery need service and clean.

I have edited the text and deleted pics as it is now sold.

Provenance is verified by Veteran Cycle Club Marque Enthusiast-authenticating letter can be provided to buyer if required.

It has NOT been repainted, I have owned it a very long time. Also Pro's were available as a frameset in any colour - you did not have to have orange.

Now Sold.

It was a Pro, and now it is sold.

The new owner has a copy of the original bill of sale.

No need to lose any more sleep boys.

Thanks Bikenut,

you are obviously a nicer chap than Hurin76...who clearly likes to sabotage other people's sales with his awesome knowledge.

Holdsworth's are very good bikes, I have others and used to live in South London not far from the Oakfield Road works. There's a guy I know who ued to run the paintshop there - he can tell a few tales!

I was simply asking a question and not trying to spoil your for sale thread,I thought that was what these forums were all about, however if you want to be over sensitive about it and I can see by going through some of your old posts you've got form.then I will let you get on with it and give you a wide berth in future.

Mistral or Pro

I got my first roadbike from Holdsworth's in Putney, a Claud Butler in champagne metallic, however rather than spend the extra on a decent cotterless chainset or sprints and tubs I opted for a lime green metallic repaint with red lettering on white round ended panels...bike porn struck at an early age!

PS In fairness there were a ton of Mistrals in that black finish, esp from the Falcon era so the post questioning it being a pro was an acceptable query IMHO 8)
