just added a couple of pics of my newly finished alpinestars on facebook, a few minutes later Geoff comments on the album saying that he bumped in to 2 guys riding the 'downs' one of which was riding a shockabilly and the other on a bow-ti.

the bikes ring a bell but i can't think who it must have been, and Geoff said you guys knew me!

put me out of my misery and tell me who it was!!

Riding on the Downs

It was myself and Uncle Monty.

I was out on my 2nd generation Shock a Billy and Monty was on his Ibis Bow-ti.

We were having a spin around the Surrey Hills and had just stopped for a coffee and a cheese straw in Peaslake. We got chatting to a couple of chaps who were interested in the bikes and wondered where we had got our time machine from. As we got talking they said they knew a chap called John from the Southampton area and had borrowed a P7 off of him for an article. I remembered your post re xt kit a few days ago and realised it must be you. I didn't realize it was Geoff Waugh that we were talking to though.

of course! GRD!! should've known!

weird though, the P7 as far as i know was being used by singletrack world, i believe a guy called Sim has it, thought it went up north to Orange, being honest i didn't look at the delivery address as i trust Orange with my kit.

:D

Strange

I asked Geoff the over day to put up some pics of the retro steeds he has taken over the years

Johnnyboy you a friend of GW on fb?

yeah, added after the privateer interview, i tend not to go mad looking at peoples profiles though so i don't know what he has posted previous to being added, i tend to look at/comment on only what interests me as it comes up on my home page. top bloke though having met him a few times now, always has time for you, which is cool.
