Sat here feeling like death warmed up, having had a maximum of 2 hours sleep. Don't think she did too much damage here in the end, but it's times like that I wished I didn't live on top of a hill facing the SW.....

It was VERY noisy and thought the french windows were going to blow in at one point.

How have other southerners fared - it was forecast to be pretty bad in southern coastal counties Hampshire eastwards....

Re:

Slept on and off. Very strong winds all night. No damage at home, and it's less blowy now.
May even, gulp, go out for a road ride. We had a lot of rain too

In Worthing, West Sussex

Re:

It went worryingly quiet at about 3 this morning, obviously the eye of the storm as by 5 it had swung around to due west and was unbelievably noisy again! Not usually one for praying but I did a bit last night...

I may think about taking the bike out as I have a job to do for an hour or so indoors this arvo, and it's easy riding distance. But have a feeling the lanes to it will be flooded, we had some monsoon rain too.

just off out with the dogs to survey the woods. not too bad overnight.

Re:

I think you were on the northern limit of it there THM, consider yourself lucky....

But be careful in the woods, sometimes the trees take a while to fall over

Haven't got a clue what it was like here in west Yorkshire. I've been struck down with something. Slept basically from Saturday until this morning 9am and I'm now managing to keep fluids down so have had paracetamol etc. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be back to my normal self.
Haven't even put my clocks forward yet! I'm still a hour behind everyone else.

Just been out to see what occurring, massive floods in all the low lying fields, and a huge tree down in one of them, it's times like this I wish I still had a wood burner....enough logs there potentially to last another winter!

Strangely still here now.

Get better soon Leigh, all you missed was some stupid football match, honest.....
