so how much do bikes affect the rest of your life?

curious as to what bikes make you do?!

for example, because of bikes i bought a van as opposed to a car, because of bikes most of my clothing is bike orientated (only 4 out of about 25 t shirts are not bike related and all but 1 hoodie are bike related) at present i am mid way through a cup of "yorkshire" tea, as in the same style logo that orange copied from yorkshire tea for one of their t shirts and i am drinking it out of an Orange mountain bikes mug.

i also plan my year around various meets and/or races as well as my holidays.


how bad have bikes taken over your life?

well when we replaced last car we went for an mpv so we could put the tandem inside , and also one that could take a normal bike inside with only taking 1 wheel out .

plus then i spend about 2 hrs per week tinkering in garage and about 4 hrs per week watching various web site for sale and wanted columns

so not a lot

My 36 year long hobby/way of life (motorbikes) has taken a back seat
sorry ZERO activity for the last 12 months thanks to this site. I spend
/blow every penny I have on bike bits Im obsessed :shock:

Bikes are a big part of my life but i don't think they've taken over. In terms of the house i've got 2 on a display stand in the spare room and my daily ride is in the kitchen. It's a pretty big room though so its not in the way. The rest and most of my parts are in the shed.

Most of my clothes are surfy i suppose. I.m not against bike branded t's but tend to find them pretty expensive.

My car was chosen to satisfy my other obsession, mk2 golf gti. The wife's car was more for the dogs than anything else. The fact it's an estate is a bonus for bikes but if i take her car it means she'd be using mine. I'd rather struggle with bikes and gear in my golf than let her drive it.

Must confess my obsession with all things bike is the same as it was before I discovered this site, that is, completely out of control. Retrobike gives me someone to talk to other than myself, my cat and Brian my imaginary friend.............yes Brian we'll go to the pub in a minute...............yes its my round..........I dont know if the stock pork scratchings............ :roll:
