This has been my winter project sourcing and building this bike up.
As a boy I had a picture of Rob Warners race bike on my wall. Never thought I be able to own one… now sadly as a 42 yr old I put my pocket money to good use and have spent the last 6 months or so sourcing everything he had in his race bike.
Frame - Medium - imported from California
Hand polished the rear swing arm, had the front stripped and resprayed, Lacquered in gloss black. As shiny as the day it left the bike shop.
Forks - Spain- original mint condition quadas
Group set - Germany- and bits from retro bikes. All Shimano m900 XTR again mint condition.
Wheels - UK- Trispoke Spins. Carbon very good condition.
Seatpost - UK - retro bikes. Mint condition USE aim anodised Red.
Tyres - Germany - Smoke and Dart. The go to combo in ‘94/95!…
Decals - retro decals UK.
I met up with the then GT sponsored Wynn Masters a while ago and he kindly had a ride and did his usual. Very cool guy, he even wore a period top for the occasion!
