So how do i calculate BB spindle length????

Oh by the way Chris i checked that i could use a Campag Chainset on a JIS spindle and apparently you can as long as you take into account the 4.5mm difference in where the crank will sit on the spindle (ie. 4.5mm further out in this case) but thanks for warning me....could have been a problem :)

Will have to contact Campyoldy again re: the front mech......

I don't have a clue about the bottom bracket you are talking about, all I could find was http://www.bikepro.com/products/bottom_ ... /mrc.shtml in a 3 second search.

If it doesn't have anything stopping you screwing it in further, than all you need to do is 'adjust your chainline' and slacken one cup off (left) and tighten the other (right) ?

Why don't i think of these things.....i seem to like other people doing my research for me.....sorry

Read through the construction of the BB. Mine appears to be a 68x119mm McMahon Gun Titanium BB. I'm gonna remove the circlip and rearrange the washers as i think it may have been refitted wrongly.... maybe that will help...

Otherwise i might just bite the bullet and buy a Campag BB with the correct spindle length....

I'm glad the BB came fitted to the montage for this very reason. I just measured the axle end to end of the tapers, 68mm x 127mm BB was needed the biggest and most expensive UN54 at CRC but at least I had the OEM one to base the size on.

Carl.

OH, and in general should the spindle not protrude an equal length from each side of the BB? :? The circlip is placed in the centre of the spindle within a 1mm groove and the spacers are supposed to be equal spacing on either side......therefore mine can only be rebuilt incorrectly!!!??
