Small size Proflex 957 project stalled

My (3) shocks went to Mick Gardner racing, my GT RTS' NR3 only needed a £10 nitrogen recharge!

Yup, thats where mine went too, but mine needed a full rebuild apparently. :(

Thanks for the sponsorship for my event if it was the O.P to this thread. :) (Ringo?)

rear shock solution is to have an adapter to accept a more common twin eyelet shock e.g. Fox float - like what I did; total cost be 60 quid. (yes I looked at Risse options but the prices from US made my heart flutter).

Unfortunately for you, the top mount for your shock looks like it is much higher i.e. not in the webbing but drilled through the top tube hence the Fox shock may not fit, unless fitted upside down.

But does the shock fit in upside down? I thought you had said not?

Noleen shocks come up on here and eBay, sold one of mine recently on here and I believe that I saw one for a proflex on eBay the other day. You could try buying a non proflex one and swapping the shafts over?

I'll be in the same boat with my rts shocks, useful to know there is somewhere that does them in the UK though.

I've been looking but can't find a single noleen coil over oil shock, let alone a pro flex one! Someone has suggested bike soup so will look on there.

The RTS's shock is much better protected from mud and dirt and shouldn't suffer the same problems that I've got with the proflex

I said not since most bikes I have seen with the Fox float have it the way I have it but Gary Fisher HiFi has it the other way hence I see why not - there will be oil in the shock so how that is affected by being upside down I don't know.

... but specifically for you, yes, the lower part will fit to your frame, just that I don't know if the top part will fit the adapter I have ... but is should be posible to make up one.
