Just before I discovered RetroBike I skipped along to Leisure Lakes in Bury asking what they recommended as a replacement for my XT M730 chainset on my 1990 classic MTB.
They fitted this modern Shimano SLX kit for £140, which is fantastic tech but certainly not in keeping with the bike http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/?fn=produ ... yId=12Fast forward about 3 weeks and 30 miles later and I found that there was NOS out there.
So here you have a barely used chainset, complete with external cups.
Two tiny marks, as can be seen in my own pics.
