Skinny knobblies

SP now watching :D

CAS no worries with the pics but it'd be nice to hear how you get on with them after a while :)

used to have the schwalbe xc pro on my crosser.....

can I hear you say pinch flat?

fast tyre but 'snakebite' like it was going out of style.

Changed to the Maxxis Locust xc pinches are a thing of the past!

(obviously the cross tyre is a much skinnier beast so pinch flats are more likely).

;]

I've got 1.8 XC Pros on my modern bike and really don't like them in mud, there's no traction on the front and it slides all over the place. The 2.2 IRC Backcountry I was using on the KHS the previous winter never had any trouble in the gloopiest of mud, and even an old worn Dart was better.

They seem alright in the dry though.

Interestingly I've had a couple of flats on these but after I mended the inner tubes I realised that the punctures were on the spoke side and put it down to cheap rim tapes that were a bit loose and moved around a lot.

I run the cross tyres at pretty much road pressures so hope to avoid pinch punctures.

Never flatted my XC pros either....

Usually run 50psi for off-road. But then, muddy woodland tracks with short technical descents at low speed aren't exactly snakebite territory.....
