Its still true though.

What part is still true? That the customers are loony or he is?

Customers or maybe silverclaws - we haven't seen him yet. He might be a wearer of fish.

We all have our problems. Some feel able to air it on a public forum. some dont. Old SC hasn't exactly endeared himself to anyone so don't expect too much in the way of sympathy.

Can someone explain what a wearer of fish is for me please, im very innocent

There used to be a chap who would stride around Cambridge wearing a loaf of bread or a fish on his head tied with a spare tie. The tie may have been bought specifically for the purpose of loaf/ fish attatchment. It is difficult to say. Thge rest of the gentlemans attire was a fairly normal suit.

He wasn't old then so may still be found with loaf or fish of the day.

A 'loony' if ever there was a good example of one.

I think that's just an excuse for people to out their latent dislike.

Plenty of people splurge all sorts of issues and problems, here, popular people get indulged, those that don't fit, slightly, get sly digs and barely disguised criticism.

Here's the thing, though, apart from writing some posts that nobody is forced to endure - they do so entirely of their own freewill - I fail to see what he's done wrong. Were this somebody much more popular, they'd not attract anything like the same degree of indifference or slights. Some seem quite happy to do that when he's at such a low ebb, but if it was themselves, or somebody they liked being treated that way at such a time, it'd be an entirely different thing.

I like the sound of this chap, but tell me how did he decide whether to sport fish or bread on any given day. Was there any significance to his choice of wheat or fish based head garb?

I dunno. I've had my fingers burnt before and am kinda reluctant to do it all again.

If someone pms me a delivery address, I will do a box of useable goodies. It will be quite large and all of it will be good stuff.

My goodness if this is what the cynical Mr Cheese offers when he really doesnt like someone, i wish he could be my friend

Was going to post earlier in response to your "more popular people are indulged" comment, Neil, but got busy at work.....

.... now you raise it again, I will say that I have to agree with you. There is an elitism that exists on most forums, and RB is no exception. It exists both on a person to person level, as well as with bikes and builds (which I guess, is only natural to some extent... its bikes, after all), but it can be a tad too cutting and distasteful sometimes

Pretty much within a month of my first ever post, I got a vile lashing from who I gathered to be a longstanding, respected member of the forum. At least he had the decency to do it behind closed doors, via PM
I am not sensitive by nature, and dont offend or get upset easily, but this guy really put me off the site for a while

Anyway, to the point in hand
Silvercalws may not come accross in the same manner as some of the more regular posters around here, but that does not for one second mean that he deserves to be lablled as some sort of loony or fruitcake that some poeple have seemed to intimate
LGF, you yourself have (to me at least) come across in a particular manner in the past, yet I have not been drawn to comment.

I think sometimes, people need to take the 5 second test prior to posting comments.....

Silverclaws. Dont disspair buddy.
You are a valued contributor to the site, and add a bit of colour and sparkle (a kind of 3DV ano, if you like) to the discussions. Most of us have been on the wrong end of theif at some point. You should definately take heart from the generosity shown. I know I did when my bike got nicked 3 days after building it. A bunch of guys a barely knew clubbed together and built me a replacement.... lovely. This bike did the rounds for several years after me

Who's Silverclaws?

Most in here certianly within rb applications I feel are trustworthy. Unless I know you really well then I do not proceed with caution but proceed with common sense

sometimes you will get it wrong but most of the times you will get it right or sometimes.....you will wear a fish on your head held by a tie

dont leave silverclaws

dont blame yourself either. it may have been silly with hindsight but i have a good friend who has served time and i would trust him with everything i have.

its like when someones handbag gets stolen from a car and it is deemed their fauly for leaving it on display. it isnt. it is the theif's fault for nicking it.

I know what you are like when offered freebies but if there is karma going i think you deserve some and i would gladly donate parts. sadly i have just given 2 bikes away.

but dont go. i dont often agree with you but i have some interest in most of what you have to say
