Show us your Diamond Backs!!!

ne isn't top of the range but I love it - Topanga from around 91/92/93? Not been able to match the paint, decals, and fork thickness to anything in the catalogs yet. Bought as a frame only and built up using spare parts.

I had it set up as a wide range 7 speed (on an 8 speed cassette), anyway it didn't get much use outdoors as I cleverly found it a home indoors as my turbo trainer bike, converted to single speed (with the 8s drivetrain now on another bike) and currently being ridden more than anything else the last few weeks!

I also treated the frame with a squirt of Lanoguard inside as a friend if mine recommended it from using it on his car - hopefully it helps prevent rust.

Just brought this on Ebay - Did a bit of digging before i brought it, if the saddle is original ( no reason to think it's not ) it would be a 1994 Model ?

Been stood for years according to the previous owner, who brought it new,

Brakes should be Canti's and not V Brakes i assume?

You can easily date a Diamond Back by the logo font.
This is 97, as this font was only used that year and earlier Diamond and Back had been single words.

It's a Sorrento.

Still in 97 with Cantilever brakes and no ahead set. Fine for you, but back in time a clear indication that components had to be sourced extremely cheap, or those guys at DB failed to keep up with trends and competition.

Thank you for that, If only I'd known it was that easy to find the year ! Not decided yet to make it original, and revert to Canti's or use a full Deore 3 x 9 speed group set and wheels I have on it.

I've got a couple.
