Show me your er..Kona Hots!

Mine

Here's mine. got rid of that nasty RF chainring and got a nice middleburn one on there now. The wheels are gone and have been replaced with 717 ceramic rims on a Clark Kent pineapple hub (looks braw!) and an XTR m950 rear. Have got some new pics of it but they're still in my camera

Frame made by Tom Teesdale from the 1993 Explosif tubeset and custom painted any colour from choice of 10,000, sounds like a good basis for popularity to me!

Interesting that it has a Tange Concept sticker on it, but I believe US consumer law requires that the sticker reflect the tube that it's stuck to, even if that is the only Concept tube on the bike. Although I think the stays may be Concept too, TT Ultralight, DT Ultrastrong.

i had read that "concept" meant it had a ovalized seat tube at bb shell junction but dont for sure

No that's a Concept, it's called bulge-butted. The ovalized tube is standard Prestige. By the following year, the frame sticker was an Ultrastrong because by then that's what the seat tube was. The use of the Concept seat tube and stays in 1993 harks back to the previous years when Concept was used for the entire frame, although I think the Hot moved over to a Tange Ultimate mix a year before the Explosif did.

I agree with the others that you've got a classic bike there. So classic it even deserves two Wildgrippers! Seriously, the green looks superb next to the frame colour.

That why you sometimes see frames with the tubeset sticker at the bottom of the downtube?

Very nice bike incidentally! 8)
